1. Information we collect

When you use StayMate, we may collect your name, phone number and email address when you create a tenant or owner account or submit a joining request. Tenants browsing listings can do so without creating an account.

PG owners additionally provide property details such as address, photos, room types, rent and amenities so we can publish their listing.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to operate the marketplace: publishing listings, connecting tenants with owners, and helping owners manage rooms, tenants and rent records.

Tenant details — including names, phone numbers, rent and payment history — are visible only to the tenant and the authorized property owner and are never shown publicly on the website.

3. Documents and sensitive data

StayMate's prototype does not collect sensitive identity documents such as Aadhaar. Before any document upload feature launches in production, documents will be stored in private, access-controlled storage visible only to the owner who needs them.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Owner contact details are shared with prospective tenants only as part of a listing the owner has published. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, under strict confidentiality obligations.

5. Data security

We use secure authentication and database access rules that restrict each owner to their own properties and authorized tenancy records. Joining history is retained privately for tenants. Membership payment records are stored securely; the website does not collect real payments in test mode.

6. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time by writing to hello@staymate.in. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date.
